Vocational Training

Yakumbo’s core programs will focus on hands-on vocational training that reflects local markets and culture in Kano.

By turning skills into income, women can move from dependence to sustainable livelihoods that can support their children and strengthen whole communities. Our Vocational Tracks are planned to include tailoring and seamstress work, embroidery, resin art, henna/makeup, leatherwork, and woodworking. We have already identified talented instructors and sourced materials for these tracks. The groundwork is in place to hit the ground running once funding is secured.
